Retrospecitve
on our first Musher Warm Up 2007 ....
Despite the chaotic traffic situation and the cool
weather the musher prominence met on the 1st of
September 2007 in Axams, Tirol, at the first Musher Warm
Up. Lots of mushers avoided neither a long drive or cost
to be a part of it and to take the chance to talk to
musher legends like Terry Streeper, Rudi Ropertz, Helmut
Peer or many others.
The two part waxing course with Alex was
enthusiastically watched by top mushers like Terry
Streeper, Uwe Radant and guests from Italy like
Massimo Bassan in the tent that was provided by
Wolfgang Betz and the Fressnapf. At the panel
discussion afterwards listeners heard answeres from the
top mushers to questions moderated by Heidi Larcher and
Helmut Peer
Local people were happy to watch the 3-dog Malamute team
demonstration that was arranged by owner Klaus Berr. He
had a six dog team planned but due to the very sweet,
little and free roaming rabbits at the Postkutscherhof
he decided on the downsizing.
The total ambience of the event location and the
farm animals was gorgeous, once in a while the landlord
rode circles in wagons pulled by horses (Norikern) with
singing passengers.
The cowhide covered stage for the "Lost River Band"
assembled with the instruments, and the prepared dancefloor
for the line dancers contributed there part on behalf of the
country spirit.
The "Barbecue Champion" spoiled the guests in the evening with
food of the finest. Adjacent to that everybody celebrated to the
country music with the band (with Ernst Danler on bass) "Lost
River" the start of the racing season and some until the crack
of dawn! The austrian mushers Wolfgang Hammerschmid and the
"musherlegend" Herbert Bajer proved once again there stamina and
stayed until the last beat.
A big "Thank You " to all who came and the visitors, in special
the mushers of the Danler Team, that are very securely "in the
boat" now.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all the
volunteers, because without there effort this event would not
have been possible
